But in all honesty, the developments you give your character is a diet, and characters must be fed responsibly.  Angst here and there is okay, but don't let it define your character.  At the same time, however, too much "happy go lucky life with no complications at all" jam leaves your character with boring-personality-diabetes.  "Social-interaction-and-relationship-building-jelly" is great for exposing your character to a variety of different people, be they friend, enemy, or somewhere in between, but it only works if you know how to handle it maturely.  In other words-- don't be a butthurting self-insert who gets all pissy when other people's characters are mean to yours   If me, Asante, and the other roleplayers at EBC didn't understand this, we wouldn't have nearly as much fun with each other as we do now!
